Carus-Verlag was founded in 1972 to publish sacred choral music. Since its founding the focus of Carus has been to publish both little known choral works from all eras in critical editions and reliable editions of older works which do not conform to the standards of modern editorial practice.
In pursuing its goal of continually expanding the repertoire available to choirs, Carus has become the leading publisher of sacred music worldwide. With more than 18,000 articles, including secular vocal music, instrumental music, CDs, books and postcards, the Carus program has grown far beyond the scope of its original intentions.
Our editions adhere to the highest scholarly standards. They are also distinguished by the excellent quality of their music engraving, as well as by the attractive presentation. With forewords printed in three languages, the editions are addressed to an international audience.
