The complete works of Frederic Chopin on historic instruments – Real Chopin:
The complete works of Frederic Chopin have been played on the historic instruments from the time of their composition: Pianos from Erard (Paris, 1849) and Pleyel (Paris, 1848). Both well-preserved instruments make it possible to hear Chopin’s music exactly as it was written. The structure and mechanics of the instruments and their resulting characteristic sound allow a completely different interpretation from modern pianos. These new recordings of Chopin’s complete works open the long-forgotten sound world of the Romantic to the listeners of today.
