Love letter to Chamber Music
The Swiss record label Divox has dedicated itself for over 20 years to exquisite chamber music in audiophile quality. For connoisseurs and enthusiasts the label with the red dot enjoys the highest reputation. Well in the foreground stands the artistic idea of production, whether it be recordings of Vivaldi or more unusual projects like the encounter of French Art Song with a jazz ensemble (The Treya Quartet plays Gabriel Fauré). Each CD is produced by the program selector, from the design of the cover to the booklet, with the greatest care and love.
The history of the label began with virtuosic recordings of the Amati Quartet, followed by the brilliant recordings of Vivaldi’s „Sonatori de la Gioiosa Marca“ with Giuliano Carmignola, which are still predominantly reference recordings. The 1994 chamber music interpretations of the “Four Seasons“, still unmatched, is considered legendary.
Divox values Audiophile quality. High-resolution digital formats like 24Bit/96KHz are used, but the atmosphere of the recording session embodies more than technical magic tricks. To capture the magic of the moment of the presence of the artists making music – therein lies a secret. The sonic experience is significantly influenced by the artistic and human chemistry between musicians, sound engineers and producers.
