Following his sensational CD with Haydn sonatas on Haydn's piano in Haydn's home (Gramola 98847), the American fortepiano specialist resident in Vienna, Richard Fuller, has now released a programme with piano pieces by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach. The works by the composer apostrophized by Mozart in the words 'He is the father, and we are the children' and a representative of the 'sentimental style' are testimonies of an expressive and very private diction. They mostly derive from the collection Für Kenner und Liebhaber, the fifth part of which is reproduced here in full, as well as a final fantasia of 1787, a kind of requiem 'for himself', subtitled 'C.P.E. Bach's feelings'.
